| Brakes On Rental Cars |

When you get a rental car you are putting faith in something that you shouldn’t; this is because this vehicle may carry your most valuable cargo, your family. The braking systems on a lot of vehicles go unnoticed until a problem becomes obvious; however you need to know what to look for if you want to do your best at staying safe. I recently got a rental van in Atlanta, and only thanks to my noticing the poor braking ability of the vehicle as I left the rental facility did I possibly save the lives of myself, my family, or someone else on the road. Poor braking performance is either, simply a sign of old breaks, or it could mean that the vehicle’s brakes are near failing. The other thing that could cause this would be oil from somewhere else in the vehicle like if I had gotten atruck rental in Atlanta which could mean that oil was dripping off of the rear differential or the front axle. A squealing or loud rough noise can be caused by brakes that are too old, it’s not worth it financially to drive around with squealing brakes everywhere because eventually they could fail and we all know how about it would be to get in an accident. If the brake pedal is pulsating or bouncing underneath your foot, this could indicate that the discs had gotten worn out. If there is a clicking noise while you are breaking, it probably means that one of the factory sound dampeners that is around the break bad has fallen off or become damaged in some way. A final brake problem you may have with older and more driven vehicles, is that you may feel like someone has thrown an ager out the window as you try to accelerate. This is a less common but still dangerous and costly problem because it is very inefficient and could wear out certain parts of the car. If you are experiencing this problem it probably means that something has happened that damaged the electrical wiring that connects to the emergency brake, and as accelerate you can feel the drag coming off of the emergency brake which will slow you down and wear out the emergency brake. In conclusion if you are going to get a car rental in Atlanta like me, or anywhere else for that matter, make sure that the brakes are in good condition before driving too much, listen and feel for problems that could harm you or your family. |
